This clip was originally cataloged with the title "Japanese Geisha Girl Sings Elvis Presley Song." "Diana" was actually written and performed by Paul Anka, though it definitely seems like she's channeling Elvis here. Clip dated February 11, 1959. Andy Johnston's Georgia Traveler Series : Burning down Effie's
Просмотров 436Год назад
In 1977 the Athens, Ga. Fire Department burned down the remains of the famous "house of ill repute," Effie's, as a training exercise. As the police chief noted, "We're demolishing a national landmark." The house was located at 175 Elm Street. Effie Matthews started her business in the early 1900s, and by the 1970s when this footage was shot, the buildings had been abandoned for decades. Tales o...

Interesting point about being poor. Mostly it's a lie. It's a comparison thing. Just bc u don't have the extras someone else has doesn't mean ur poor or without.

That is what Watergate was, you know: a successful CIA coup. Hard to believe most people don't know that, 50 years later. They don't know it because CIA now controls the media, the universities, the public schools, the Supreme Court, and Congress as well. You get all your “information” from the CIA, so without a lot of effort you aren't going to see through it. You won't realize you are living in the Matrix until-by some accident or luck-you manage to step outside it for a moment, like Neo.

Yes, Biden is suffering from dementia, but we have known that for years. And Trump was also horrible, demented in a different way. But none of this was organic or accidental. As I have been saying for years, the office of the President has been staged for decades, since the time of Gerald Ford. After Watergate, the CIA took over the executive branch in toto, using it only as a front. By 1980 they had installed a Hollywood actor, so you should have figured it out by then, but almost no one did. - Miles Mathis

At 1:10 in, Gilda advises performers, "Don't go anywhere" to be discovered as so many young performers often do, just be around what you love. While I also believe that eventually you HAVE to go to a big city to work at the highest levels, here is something that happened to me only last year. Just Google, "Robert Kim goes from singing at Georgia supermarkets," and you'll see just how wise this woman truly was. God bless you all.

John was really good, honest and straight motivation and action. I knew him when I was 10 years old, on the SS United States, transatlantic over the north ocean to Europe. He was my captain, guide, teacher, etc, during 5 days. All over the ship. So, during the years I have watched and attended to it all, the movies, content, frame and expanse, dynamic personalities. Then recently I thought to know about that aspect of John Wayne which is not generally as prominently examined as the out in wide open air and Action. The business of making the movie. This interview is of value about that. John was solid at the practice of the business.

I just noticed from the description that this was an American show, which surprises me a bit simply because of the interviewer's accent. "Mercy Sandberg-White"; her accent sounds Scandinavian to me and perhaps one of her parents, the Sandberg presumably, was a first generation immigrant, or perhaps she herself was an immigrant. Whatever the truth, it surprises me to hear an interviewer/presenter on American TV (or British for that matter, at least in that era) with a foreign accent. The description says that she was a stand-in host, she certainly did a good job in my opinion.

What is often hailed as his greatest achievement, the so called “opening to China”, is in reality, his greatest blunder. There was no need to recognize communist China, when the U.S. already recognized the legitimate government of China in Taiwan.

Eisenhower stopped General Patten from marching onward to Victory in Berlin, condemning half of Europe to slave under communist Rule. And as president, he did the same again in Korea, seizing defeat from the jaws of victory, blocking General Ridgway from retaking all of Korea. That he was ready at the drop of the hat, to betray his own VP, for political expediency is not surprising at all.

I was a kid in the 70s so I grew up thinking he was essentially a bad man thanks to the media and pop culture. I really resent being made so ignorant for years. It was only later when I realized what kind of a statesman and man he was. And Watergate seems laughably misdemeanor compared to the corruption of Hillary Clinton, Biden, Obama and the bureaucrats and activist judges appointed by them.

THE DEMS, using the same law-fare tactics we see today used against Trump, basically staged a coup d'é·tat to replace Nixon (elected in a landslide in 1972) with the hapless Jimmy Carter. How did that work out? Carter overthrew the Shah of Iran, a true friend of America, and installed the communist-backed Islamic despot regime. He gave away the American built Panama Cannel, which is now run by the Chinese Communist Party. Not to mention trashing the economy, igniting runaway inflation. Sound familiar?
